Activas: Modern Design with a Sprinkling of AI

Activas is a new health and wellness tracker for the iPhone and iPad from developer Brian Hough, who built it from the ground up with Apple Intelligence and Liquid Glass in mind. The app serves as a dashboard that brings together information from the Health app in a colorful and easy-to-understand way, using progressive disclosure...

@macstories
@johnvoorhees @viticci thank you both for the very kind coverage of Activas and other indie apps and developers, I really appreciate it!
@brianhough @macstories @johnvoorhees @viticci Hi! It looks like Activas is not available worldwide. Is a broader release planned ? Thanks !🙏🏻
@jonathanfh @macstories @johnvoorhees @viticci This is totally my bad! First time I’ve ever submitted an app to the App Store and didn’t realize that there was some additional verification Apple requires to get distribution working in the EU. I’m working on submitting this ASAP to get access restored!
@brianhough @macstories @johnvoorhees @viticci Great. The MacStories article got me very interested, and I'm looking forward to testing Activas. Keep me posted!
@jonathanfh @macstories @johnvoorhees @viticci Good news, Apple just approved us for release in the EU! It should be live very soon if it isn't already - https://mastodon.social/@activas/115696784407318062
@brianhough @jonathanfh @macstories @johnvoorhees @viticci @activas awesome thank you! App downloaded. Next EU-problem, no switch between normal measurements and insane ones 😉 oh sorry I spoke loud my thoughts, I mean kilos and centimeters versus lbs and inches
@JonathanGulbrandsen @brianhough @jonathanfh Changing measurement units will be coming in the very next release, hopefully in the very near future!

@brianhough @johnvoorhees @jonathanfh @macstories @viticci It’s indeed available now 🎉 Thanks!

Can you please add support for Metric units?

@brianhough @johnvoorhees @jonathanfh @macstories @viticci Lean Body Mass is always 0.0 lbs…

How is this calculated?

My scale measures weight, body fat %, water % and bone mass %, but only the first two (weight, body fat) are stored in HealthKit.

@rob @johnvoorhees @jonathanfh @macstories @viticci Thanks for the details! Currently, Activas only looks for explicit 'Lean Body Mass' data in HealthKit, which is why it's appearing as 0.0 for you.

That said there is certainly opportunity for Activas to do the calculation itself if it has those other measurements - this is a great feature request and I've added it to my list of improvements to focus on for an upcoming release.
