@ReggieHere @Mastodon there were multiple reasons why Usenet died and if prompted and provided with enough beer, I will happily expound on the topic for an hour in front of an audience.
I'd be interested to hear your reasons, but afaik Usenet was knocked down by the web and buried by smartphones but still exists.
