I’m just here for the views of The Gully
#mcbc #bluemountains
@corduroy I know, right? Always finding light aircraft in the gullies, it's like flies on a blown sheep
@weezmgk bring back the Catalina, and a pub next door. It would be closer to my new house too, so that’d be great.

@weezmgk

We "found" one on the side of what's now Aeroplane Hills at Woodford. A Wirraway crashed many years ago, & 20+y ago bits still remained.

If you want to search, it was south of Aeroplane Hills firetrail, out towards the end, 1-200m(?) off track over a rocky outcrop/ridge. There was a cairn nearby. That's all I remember - it was 20+y ago! We rode in off the Ingar track, but Wenty access is closed. The steep long ways are Andos or Woodford > Bedford Ck > Ingar > AH track

@corduroy

@thefathippy @weezmgk @corduroy did you blog about that? I have vague recollections of getting lost trying to find the side track off Ingar once…
@thefathippy thanks for the treasure map but unless it's accessible by 2WD mobility scooter, it's somebody else's to find @corduroy
@thefathippy @weezmgk you can absolutely still get down Ingar from the bottom of Queen Elizabeth Dr. - walking track around the private property that’s blocking the fire trail.
I rode down that trail a couple of years ago until it became quite sketchy. Did not find an aeroplane. I will need to go looking now!
