@MonaApp So it is separate product? Bummer but I will support you guys nevertheless
@MonaApp In this version have you added--finally?!--'drag to reorder' functionality -- for the lists of themes?

@MonaApp So to ‘upgrade’.
⁃ Uninstall Mona 7 beta from the iOS devices
⁃ Install the ‘old’ Mona 6?
⁃ Choose options to buy the new upgrade ‘combo’ license (discounted upgrade price I guess)
⁃ Install Mona 7 on all iOS devices

If not can you please advise the correct upgrade process?

⁃ On the Mac carry on using Mona 7 beta for now?

@tekguru The step 1 is optional, and yes, you will need to have Mona 6 installed. The App Store version is a separate app from the Mona Beta.
@MonaApp Okay so load Mona Classic and go from there. Okay x
@MonaApp Okay I’ve installed Mona Classic but can’t see any options within it to upgrade. I can see the pro licensing but only for the current version which of course I’m fully licensed.
Am I missing the obvious?
Or do I go to the new Mona 7 App Store entry and that sees the Classic version is installed and licensed and offers the discounted licensing model?
@tekguru Hi, the purchase options will be available in the Mona 7 app. Just make sure Mona 6 is installed so that the discount option will be activated.
@MonaApp Okay, pre-ordered so I guess on the 16th I can go in to the new app, and get the pricing. Sorted!
@MonaApp The getmona.app link is only for iOS/iPadOS, but doesn’t open Mona 7 on the Mac App Store per the graphic. No biggie obv, but FYI if you planned otherwise.
@Spaceman_Spiff Thank you for the fyi. The macOS version will be available at a later date once Apple approves it.

@MonaApp So it’s an update on version 6? If I have 6 installed, will I get update to 7 automatically?

Or is it a separate App? Then I hope I could get all my settings over to the 7 version 😅

@nSonic Mona 7 requires a separated app download. Settings are automatically synced.
@MonaApp Why doesn’t pre-order show a price?
@arrakeen_urbanite The app will be free to download with optional in-app purchases.
@MonaApp Even though I just paid for a multi-device license a few months ago, I like Mona enough to update/upgrade my license for the new version.
@MonaApp Will my Mona Pro Max I purchased for 6 apply to 7 or will it be a paid upgrade?
@jim Hi, if you have Mona Pro Max in Mona 6, you can purchase Mona Ultra in Mona 7 with a discount.
@MonaApp @jim How much of a discount should I see appear in Mona 7?
I would have favoured your website getmona.app would have at least some information on how to upgrade fluently.
@MonaApp @jim Those one-time offers weren’t very logical to find. When clicking on “Mona Ultra”, I only see the 2 subscriptions listed. Luckily, I scrolled down to see the one-time purchase offers.

@MonaApp Pre-ordered (which sounds weird for a "free” app - with IAP that can't be bought yet).

Mona Classic (6) and Mona Beta (7) already installed, so ready to buy the (limited time) one-time Ultra upgrade for Pro Max users on day one of the Mona 7 release.

@MonaApp Do subscriptions to Pro copy over?
@[email protected] I've just placed my pre-order. I currently have the pro and I want to take advantage of the upgrade path but didn't see anywhere to actually pay for anything. Do I just need to wait until the app is released and then choose the in-app purchase? Thanks so much, and I love the app!
@technolass @MonaApp I wanna know the same thing so my wife can buy the pro.
@technolass I have the same question. I absolutely cannot wait. :-)
@technolass Yes you need to wait until the app is released and then choose the in-app purchase. @Lino0876 @technocounselor
@MonaApp It will be 10 days for the release. I will pay the $20 subscription for a lifetime access.
I can’t wait.
@MonaApp Does Mona 7 sync the timeline position with Mona 6? I use it both on desktop and on my phone, so it's important to have the sync working cross-version until the Mac version of Mona 7 is available.
@MonaApp Thank you so much for letting us know we can pre-order Mona 7. I assume once version seven is available and you have installed it and paid, can you then safely delete mona6 from your device? I also assume once all your settings have been synced from version 6 to version seven version six will no longer be required on the phone.
@MonaApp So once 7 comes out, will 6 no longer be maintained? Just trying to figure out if both apps will be needed, etc.
@MonaApp Your apps have been a game changer in my social media consumption, so I want to continue to support you financially. However, I'm struggling to think of one new feature I'd be compelled to use in Mona 7.
@WirlOfWirls @MonaApp I'm pretty much in the same boat. What does this new version do better for more casual users?

@MonaApp Does this replace the Mona 7 beta when it downloads or install alongside?

Does App Store version of Mona 7 sync settings from Mona 6 or the Mona 7 beta if that’s installed?

I still have Mona 6 Pro Max installed, but have only been using Mona 7 beta for a quite some time.

@vanitalo It won't replace it. Mona 7, Mona 6, and Mona Beta are 3 separated apps.
@MonaApp PLEASE I BEG OF YOU to put an explanation of the change in business model at the top of the App Store description so everyone can see it. When it's not mentioned or only relegated to the In App Purchases section, it's too easy, and deceptive IMHO, to get an app thinking its just another update and then discover it requires payment or, worse, a subscription. I wish Apple required devs to do this and I hope you do it.
@MonaApp Curious: (1) Will Mona 6 still receive upgrades? (2) Is there a post somewhere with information on what's new, and what's restricted to the premium upgrade?
Appreciate the grandfathered pricing—I will be using that.

@simon They previously said they would try to keep Mona 6 in the App Store, but that Apple sometimes take issue with essentially two versions of the same app being available and might remove it. That probably implies no major updates; I wouldn't personally bother updating an app that could be pulled or rejected at any time.

Then again I also wouldn't try to pass off a version upgrade as a new app and force everyone to pay for it all over again either so what do I know.

@jscholes @simon I wish that that was against the terms of service ,somehow. But I guess not.
@simon Hi there, (1) Mona 6 will get bug fix updates;
(2) Please check the App Store page for details: https://getmona.app

@MonaApp Looking forward to it. Thanks!
