But yeah, I have two client bikes I'm working on. Because of where they live and being the hedgecutting season, I swapped their tyres for #Schwalbe Marathon Plus.

Swapped the lady's pedals to #Crankbrothers Stamp 0, in the right size, and changed her stem cap and put her drivetrain in the ultrasonic cleaner.

Her 10yo #Cannondale looks gorgeous now!

@IoanSaid
I'm always staggered by how well marathon tyres ride given how stiff and heavy they feel off the bike.

@Guy It's my biggest seller for commuters and people that just go on family rides :)

It's good to have the confidence that your tyres will do their best to bring you home no matter what.

@IoanSaid
I run them on my 1980s 531c touring bike which is a long soft comfortable ride so the marathons don't feel harsh. It also weighs a tonne so a few extra grams don't make much difference.

I previously ran open pave tyres but couldn't find them when I last looked.

@Guy @IoanSaid I had to replace the old (Kendas) on my daily driver step through shopping bike and thought I would bite the bullet and go for Marathon+ even though I know they are heavy and slow.

OMG, they're faster and sharper-turning than the Kendas were (and have doubled the bike's value).

In fairness to the Kendas, they never had a single puncture in years and years of London use. Only replaced because of a sidewall bulge.
