I have spent a bunch of time playing Power Network Tycoon over the last few days and it’s super fun! It’s not so deep that you’ll be sucked in for hundreds of hours (looking at you, Factorio), at least yet, but it’s deep enough to be really fun, and uses a lot of real life power engineering stuff (managing earth potential rise, conductor temperatures/ampacity, power factor/reactive power, load shedding, etc.). I think it’s in Early Access still, would recommend!
@DavidMadeThis oh hey you’re on fedi! Thank you for a super fun game :D As someone that grew up in a family of EEs and is fascinated by power engineering stuff even if the voltages I design with myself tend to be closer to 1.2v than 12kV, it’s been the perfect mix of reality and “game-ness” for where my brain is at the moment.
@sen @DavidMadeThis what I want to know is if I can submit any hours I spend playing this game as Continuous Professional Development for the purposes of my Professional Engineering certification
