The old Holiday Inn signs still fill me with a certain joy—an anticipation of travel and hotel pools as a child. I don't think I ever stayed at a classic Holiday Inn as a kid, but I have stayed in a lot of Holidomes and Expresses since then. They really should bring back the classic signs. #design

@DanMorgan The American Sign Museum has what is believed to be the last authentic 'Great Sign' in existence. It's displayed at the entrance and, once you step inside, there's also a scale replica that was used for things like trade shows and also the original blueprints for its design.

@blag That is a shame. I believe commercial art is ART and needs to be preserved. There's a spectrum of art starting with Art Nouveau through Deco and into retro-futuristic/mid-century mod that absolutely entrances me.
