Some views of the supermoon two nights ago at 98 percent illumination, just a few hours before full. It was my first time using a 2x Barlow lens to boost the magnification and I like the results so far! (Check out @appagalcrochet’s moon photos for even greater clarity and detailed maps of lunar sites.)

wow! what's the full setup and camera settings look like? I'll have to look up what a Barlow lens is. Amazing shots!
@RyanBFramed Thanks! My setup is pretty much what’s in the product pics below. I have a Celestron reflector scope (130mm aperture, 650mm focal length) on a Dobsonian base and tripod. I use a smartphone adapter to attach my iPhone 15 to the 25mm telescope eyepiece, set the phone to HEIF Max and just fiddle with the exposure as I shoot. For closeups I add in the Barlow lens which is an optical tube that doubles (and in some cases triples) the magnification of the eyepiece.
@RyanBFramed I’m learning my way around the ProCam app though I sometimes still prefer the native camera app on my phone. I know there’s more sophisticated astrophotography gear out there, both in terms of cameras and telescopes, but they’re beyond my means at the moment and I’m just doing the best with what I have πŸ˜
