I think my BambuLab A1 mini really struggles with certain types of filament that are not thick enough, whether it's the old, two-year-old white PLA or the wood filament. With a little pressure, the extruder pushes it through the nozzle, but it doesn't do so continuously on its own. #3dprinting #3dprinter #bambulab
I took the print head apart and put it back together again. My suspicion was confirmed. When the larger plastic part is removed, the two rollers of the extruder move closer together and exert enough force, but with the part in place, this is prevented, so that PLA that is supposedly too narrow fails and is stopped with very little counterforce without the extruder even noticing. #bambulab #3dprinter

I’m a little frustrated because I’ve wasted time and filament and had misprints and print failures. Suddenly, the printer stops feeding filament, doesn’t notice, the extruder indicator continues to run and the printer prints ‘air’. melsaywhat@matths I'm a total noob so forgive me if you already know this, but I've heard some things about age of filament, proper temp/humidity storage, build plate having an effect and also been checking the Bambu wiki and learning a lot of stuff about challenges.
@melsaywhat No problem. Those are valuable tips. I'm also registered on the forum and watch YouTube videos. But in this particular case, it seems to be a pattern with the A1 mini and the use of certain filaments. I think the extruder could be a little tighter/stronger.
