It's funny that the #UK, which used to pride itself on its level of civilization, is now deservedly known as TERF Island.

How did this happen?

1) a billionaire who also has social capital can move public opinion a lot if they campaign on an issue that does not affect elite interest.

2) The UK has for a long time sold itself as "we will help you manipulate the Americans". But it goes two ways, just like wealthy people who buy propaganda and then are fooled by their own propaganda.
