The @verge recently released a podcast ranking Apple's best gadgets - from AirTag to Vision Pro. Here's my rating scale:

“best is deliberately all-encompassing... It's not most successful. It's not most lucrative. It's not highest tech... It is all of those things & many more."

Agree? Disagree?

@BasicAppleGuy
Basically agree but would probably swap 6 and 7.
@BasicAppleGuy @verge I assume this is currently shipping products since the iPod is nowhere to be seen

@BasicAppleGuy Honestly, I’d probably rank the Vision Pro below the HomePod. It has such potential, but it’s basically dead on arrival because its cost makes it virtually unobtainable to anyone but the most ardent Apple fans with a boat load of disposable income.

Heck, I’m an iOS developer and I’ve never even considered making apps for it because there’s no market. 😭

@BasicAppleGuy @verge For me, this is the best device ever! Compact, simple, the battery lasts for weeks and that just works great #iPod #iPodShuffle #Apple
@BasicAppleGuy
1. iPhone
2. Mac
3. AirPods
4. Apple TV
5. iPad
6. Apple Watch
7. HomePod
8. AirTag
9. Vision Pro
@BasicAppleGuy @verge Vision Pro is a tech demo, not a product. What is it even doing on this list 😂

@BasicAppleGuy @verge
1. Mac
2. iPhone
3. iPad
4. AirPods
5. Apple Watch
6. HomePod
7. Apple TV
8. AirTag
9. Vision Pro

I don’t know how anyone rates the iPhone above the Mac. That’s crazy talk. I can almost see a way to put AirPods above iPad, but I can’t get there myself. And ranking anything below Vision Pro is journalistic malpractice.

@BasicAppleGuy @verge hey where’s the polishing cloth?!
@BasicAppleGuy @verge can HomePod to 99 instead of just 9? I want nothing to do with that kind of device being anywhere near me.

@BasicAppleGuy If we’re talking “all time” I would have the iPod at position 2, after iPhone. The rest I’d leave the same.

The iPod is what really put Apple on the map (and in the black) because it was affordable to everyone. In my opinion the iPhone should cost HALF what it does now in order to make it as accessible to all as the iPod was.
