Someone write a firefox extension that:
- Detects if you're running on battery power (may be tricky)
- Detects if a browser tab is using a lot of CPU resources
- Saves the current view as a static HTML copy
- Just views that
DUDE, that would save so many hassles with the modern web.
Right now, my workflow looks like this:
- Open article
- Start reading article
- Notice high CPU usage
- Mutter under my breath
- Ctrl+L, Ctrl+C, CTRL+W
- Open #Dillo
- Ctrl+L, Ctrl+V, Enter
- Read in peace
I know, I know, NoScript. I do use it on my phone, funny enough, but I'm not running it on the desktop/laptop.
Maybe I'll try having two browsers: LibreWolf all locked down to heck for casual browsing, and Firefox (AI crap disabled) for work stuff. I dunno. :P
