The port of Toki to Amiga (and Atari ST) is undoubtedly one of the best ever made for an arcade game! πŸ§™β€β™€οΈ πŸͺ„ πŸ’

Smooth gameplay, vibrant graphics. The developers did an amazing job πŸ˜€

And to compare with the Amiga version, I also made a video of the arcade version of Toki developed by Tad Corporation 🐡

There are not only graphical differences, but also in level design (fewer enemies/items on Amiga)

Here's a comparison of a sprite between the arcade, Amiga and Atari ST versions of Toki.

Yes, indeed! Toki's beloved has become a brunette on the Atari ST. No doubt for technical reasons.

@Gamrok is it just me or did the Amiga port add an, erm, wardrobe malfunction?
@Nickiquote @Gamrok as I said over on Bluesky: blessed be whoever decided the Amiga version needed more nipple
@Gamrok I suppose different teams were porting on Amiga or Atari ST even if it were the same publisher ?
@sgtpepere Same developers from the same studio (Ocean France). Only the programmers are different, but they know each other well πŸ™‚
@Gamrok The Atari ST seemed to have less color variations on its sprites so maybe the girl would have had plain yellow hair and they chose black because it looked more natural ?
@sgtpepere I think they were limited to the color palette we see on screen. The closest color to yellow is skin tone, but that would have looked weird! Looking at the other colors available, the best option is black :)
