I brought my Lexmark MFP from the US to Europe. I can promise you that EU toner is not cheaper.

Printers are far and away the least reliable/most infuriating aspect of home computing, and the companies making the damn things are hellbent on making that proposition inconceivably worse by any means necessary. Like not allowing me to print black & white text because the magenta cartridge is too low (which actually happened to me).

Didn't know Lexmark was around anymore. Used to be a household (well...) name after they took over IBM's keyboard business.
I finally have a resolution path for my Lexmark region locked toner problem. It took a few calls to reach the right people at support.
They provide you a reset firmware, signed to match your device serial number, that will change your device's region.
Of course, now that means I had to order Black and Yellow because now my US toners are for the wrong region.
