Bird flu has been on the radar as the Next Big Flu Pandemic for at least 20 years. It’s been getting closer in the last four years. When it does hit eventually, it’ll hit hard not because it’s necessarily more dangerous than Covid, but because the public won’t heed the warnings due to “pandemic fatigue” and repeated Covid infections have created more vulnerable people.
