“A Breville coffee machine is available today for $349.00, which is the cheapest we have seen it at Briscoes since we started tracking, but it’s only 97 cents cheaper than it was in mid-September.”

97 cents

@ClareBear yup. It’s like the retailers are in it for the money… ;)
@SimonCHulse I'm shocked Simon shocked

@ClareBear IKR? I’ve been a retail worker for the best part of ten years (although not anymore due to concussion in the workplace due to overwork and bullying causing burnout causing concussion).

It sucks for the workers too. I had to plead with management for cans of V in the staff room to keep going on big sale weeks. Most years they were provided. But it shouldn’t be necessary.

@SimonCHulse of course it shouldn't Simon Let's hope we can #FlickThePricksIn26
@ClareBear it was still happening under Jacinda. We need to have a 2026 (and 2027, 2028… or however long it takes) #BoycottBlackFriday so big that the retailers learn to not bother.
@SimonCHulse we gotta stop consuming
@ClareBear I would say, we’ve gotta stop consuming *unnecessarily*.
