The EU (that includes France) should embrace and support projects like #GrapheneOS rather than criminalize them. If we want to achieve digital sovereignty, we need to make sure that alternatives to Google and Apple can flourish.

Also, Linux on Mobile is becoming increasingly viable (#ubuntutouch , #postmarketos, #mobian, etc.). These alternatives are not quite as mature (or secure, for that matter) as GrapheneOS, but they definitely deserve attention and funding.

At least a few of those initiatives are legally based in the EU (#ubports #UbuntuTouch in Germany, for example)
@ancientsounds yes, but do they receive funding?
@GeorgWeissenbacher
I think not, and I totally agree with you that the EU could really do much more to stimulate alternatives to US tech, to its own great benefit. Not only EU - also UK etc.
