I've just highlighted a critical portion of this post regarding the concentration of new users and the growth of the FediVerse in a federated manner in relationship to the reality where only one server grows, moderation suffers {user to mod ratio} and other servers regretfully shrink!

No one entity / server should be allowed to grow exponentially defeating the purpose of a Federated Network.

@Dendrobatus_Azureus Outcomes: full agreement. The dominance of one server is bad and harms the fediverse's goals.

Process: "No one entity / server should be allowed to..."

Who or what does the allowing or not-allowing? That is a pretty big issue for me.

@guyjantic

There is no one entity who does that {<dis>allowing}

The fact that mastodon.social changed "without warning* the **critical policy** of rotating suggested servers, is highly suspect of a corporate entity pulling strings {read USD / EUR payment}.

This is conjecture, it is not factual, I can't prove it.

The fact however that I'm bringing my mind to that level, means that trust has been broken in the mastodon.social server, which abused the official clients they code, to plug their server, negating the many smaller servers growth.

Mastodon.social has the same weight as any other Federated Server.

We should not have let it come so far. It's become a mammoth that needs to be brought back in line.

Complacency brought us to this level
