Happy Thanksgiving? Happy Open Source!

Here's an unusual, holiday-themed drive aimed at "keeping critical code alive". This very creative campaign, The Cranberry sOSS (yes, say it out loud!), funds maintainers and fights developer burnout. ๐Ÿ’ Supporting the devs keeping the FOSS world running.

Open source Plone CMS and its strong community are always focused on sustainability. Doesn't this sOSS idea just get your creative sauces flowing for our project?

What's your best, most creative idea for funding Plone's core development and community? Post your ideas in the comments below๐Ÿ‘‡

Let's make sure FOSS is sustainable for years to come!

@plone not creative in the least, but the best option is for entities who use Plone to pay for it and stop freeloading. Free Open Source Software is not "free" in cost, but in the freedom to use it. If you want to continue to use FOSS, then pay for its continued development.

Other than that, we need to pursue grants from entities to fund development. I'm working on one such grant from NLnet. We need more people to find funding sources. I'll help write the grant application. Hit me up.

@plone here's another. https://fosstodon.org/@cuducos@tech.lgbt/115616408527801836. Fuck the US government's anti-DEI initiatives. We take care of us.
