It's that time of the month when I look to try and move away from the Brave to Vivaldi (browsers).
Yet again I tried to use it for 24 hours, but no….. Because of:
The Language Tool extension needs to be accessed each time I open sites, it does not just work a sit does with Brave
If I switch tabs then the prior tab stops playing any audio which was playing - there seems no way to turn this behaviour off.
Ad blocking on IMG.UR leaves blank spaces. To get rid of these spaces uBlock Origin is needed
When right clicking on an image and looking to save it the β€˜Save Image as' option is half way down the menu. A small point granted but annoying. Most other browsers have it near the top.
And no, I’m not reporting any of these as bugs as I never seem to get any of my β€˜issues' resolved.
If anyone can give any workarounds for any of the above it'd be appreciated.

@tekguru @Vivaldi @brave Do you have a workaround for viewing images hosted at Imgur? I'm getting fed up of seeing the content blocked message.

I take it you've tried Orion browser? I've had a little play with it, but not had the time for thorough testing yet. @kagihq might be able to tell you if those issues occur with it.

@onlinegoddess @Vivaldi @brave @kagihq I access it on the Mac by using the AdGuard VPN. Maybe the Vivaldi browser on the Mac could be used as that has the free version of the Proton VPN built in.
Never tried the mobile version of the VPNs on the iPhone as I never access IMG.UR on mobile devices.
Hope that helps.

@tekguru

Let's see if the following helps to improve your experience with Vivaldi.

- The translation menu accessed from the Address Bar has a checkbox for "Always translate ___". Enable that to automatically translate web pages you visit in that language.

- You'll find tab muting settings in Settings > Tabs > Tab Features.

- If saving images is something you frequently do, look into customizing the context menu in Settings > Appearance > Menu > Menu Customization and move the command to your preferred location in the menu.

Hope this helps.

@Vivaldi Many thanks for such a useful reply. I’ll check out your suggestions when I get home later.
@Vivaldi The language tool extension is a spell checker and not for translating. I type way too quickly and that leads to many typos which I use LT to triage and correct. πŸ˜‰
@Vivaldi To follow through:
⁃ Ref Language Tool - I replied earlier. It's a spell checker.
⁃ Muted tabs, I found the setting and have altereds it, I’ll see if it works. Hopefuilly so.
⁃ I've gone all the way through the memu customisation options and there doesn't seem to be one for handling the β€˜right click' (on an image) menus at all. Unless of course I’ve missed something somewhere?
Back to you I guess?

Re: menu customization.
In the menu customization drop-down menu, from the Web Page's section, select Image and Link.
With the Image menu, just drag the "Save Image as" option nearer to the top of the menu.
If the image is also a link, then the image related commands are in the Link menu's sub folder and you'll probably want to add the "Save Image as" option by dragging it from the Context Commands section in the Commands column to the Content column.

@Vivaldi Yep I actually found that last night after going on a deep dive through the settings. Working wonderfully well now.
Many thanks.
@Vivaldi Guys looking at further menu customisation is it possible to add / move the settings menu so that is appears to the left of the profile icon? If it is I can't work out which part of the menu I need to look at customising.
Thanks in advance.

@tekguru You mean the Settings button on the browser's toolbars, right?

The location of that you can edit from the main menu > View > Customize Toolbar.

@Vivaldi Ah ha that one I’d missed I’ll give it a try. Thanks.
Another question apps such as PopClip which get invoked when selecting text on a webpage seem not to work in Vivaldi, is there a setting I can change to allow such things to work?
Thanks again.
@Vivaldi Looking at this it seems you can't add the Settings button to the Address Bsar, no may I’ll manage :)
I still can't get Vivaldi to work with PopClip though. Hmm it seems to work on some pages, others not, I'll experiment :)
@Vivaldi I’m now testing out various other spell checkers to see which works best.
