I think it's great that Medeski & Martin are playing occasional improv sets with Metzger & Cline, but 20 years into the Wood Bros affair maybe it's time they stop deferring to Chris and recruit another bassist for a trio (+) tour that revisits the #MMW canon while exploring new directions.

From the outside it feels like a broken three-way marriage with a cuckolded partner(s) that has flings while holding out hope their cheating spouse will return.

@BEK97 Medeski is on the new Julian Lage album, so maybe he can recruit Jorge Roeder for the Wood spot. MMR would be sick!

@BEK97 yeah I tend to agree. Made more annoying by the fact that The Wood Brothers simply suck by any objective measure. It’s not like Chris is ghosting MMW for the ‘73 Dead. Wake up dude.
