#OnThisDay, 25 Nov 1741 (OS), Tsarevna Elizabeth Petrovna seized power over the Russian Empire in a Palace coup.

She was crowned Elizabeth I the following year and remained Empress of Russia till her death in 1762. She had a policy of not executing people.
