@N4JAW I love that combo of a folding bike and Heathkit! Eye candy, all of it! 😍
@qrper I', having so much fun with this HW-8 Jewel. Talk about an easy setup when using my folding bike. Hard to beat it.

@N4JAW Well it looks the part! Absoluely love it, Jim and I know that the Hot Water 8 loves being outdoors! :)

Happy Thanksgiving, my friend!

@qrper Thomas, here's hoping you have a wonderful holiday weekend and that all is well with your family especially your Dad.
@N4JAW Thank you so much, my friend! ❤️
@N4JAW Jim this really brings back some fond memories. My first attempt at QRP portable operating was in the summer of 1980 with this rig, while on a canoe trip with friends. I strung up an 80m dipole on some low bushes and powered my HW-8 using two 6v lantern batteries in series. We didn’t have so many travel-friendly 12v battery options back then.
@ve3wmb Michael I had to laugh about your battery. Same type I used back then. Forgot all about that lantern battery. That reminds me of using lantern batteries in my Scouting years in the 50's & 60's
