Can someone please #ExplainToMeLikeIm5 WHY THE FUCK DOES A #CHARGER NEED "#Cloud" and "#AI" 'features' or a shitty, non-self adjusting #Clock ???

  • Worse even: This isn't like some fancy "Lab Equipment" to do custom charge voltage and amperage curves or something where said settings may come in handy (Like needing to charge or discharge a custom cell / battery pack design/chemistry), but it's just a giant #GaN #USB #PowerDelivery block, so there is no reason to shove an #LCD (or even #OLED) into that case to begin with!

@kkarhan it's also an alarm clock? And can you schedule charging or turn ports on and off from outside your house? Residential internet connections being blocked from hosting open ports explains a lot about enshittification / internet of shit.

@enobacon granted, #ConsumerProtection would likely nix that in case of actual damages as it's the manufacturers fault and sole responsibility to comply with #FireSafety and enshure #CustomerSafety of the device as sold by the manufacturer.

  • Not to mention such a clause would ne null and void in #Germany because said terms are 'neither reasonable nor expectable for the product or service cuz when did some senior hear that a power supply needs firmware updates.

So at most Anker has to Advance-RMA replacements to buyers via their distributors before the customers have to do shit.
