OMG so the teams are going to meet back in cap hill after the game ends and though so far this territory is not claimed by any team I'm excited for a show-down over that territory, bonus points if it was a tie breaker between any two teams! this is the kind of action I hoped to see in a future game after the game is more mature not the pilot!!

Oh this looks interesting. What exactly was this battle?

@KyleCKelly #MapBattle is a game where teams go around the city (the pilot is being played in #seattle right now) using #publictransit and add missing information to #openstreetmap

Teams get points and the team with the most number of points in a neighborhood flips it to their team color, the team with most neighborhoods (i.e. territories; since we might play versions of the game in the future where we go beyond city bounds) wins!

@ammaratef45

Veeery fun. Love this idea. I'll be looking out for the next one (:

@ammaratef45 That sounds cool. I’d like to know more if you do it again.

@garland yeah, we will definitely do it again! I post the fliers here on mastodon, we don't have a mailing list yet but if you send me your email in a private mention I can add you to it once we have it (only if you want)

Sounds fun, I'm looking forward to learn what is a map battle! I've read your posts, but it looks like to be too soon to be published

@jibec yeah only a pilot game of mapbattle was played so far!

Though the pilot was successful and we have a lot of ideas to improve and polish the game, if I have time and energy the coming days ill write about the pilot and share it with urbanism or open source publications that might be willing to publish it

@ammaratef45
OK, all the best, no pressure, I'll be pleased to read about it
