What’s worse than not accepting email addresses with a plus sign, such as [email protected]?

Accepting them, but silently changing the address to [email protected] when replying, and quoting my personal data that I had entered.

If the domain wasn’t owned by me, someone else would now have a gotten a copy of my personal data.

It gets more interesting: I just submitted my personal data via telephone because they’re somehow not able to process the fax I sent back in September, and the PDF I’ve emailed twice by now was ignored.

During the call, I learned about another requirement for the email address: it has to start with a capital letter! 🤯

I’m starting to question my decision to sign a contract with them. At the same time, I’m very eager to finally get fibre…

@aaronk6 another folks, which might need to read https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc5322
RFC 5322: Internet Message Format

This document specifies the Internet Message Format (IMF), a syntax for text messages that are sent between computer users, within the framework of "electronic mail" messages. This specification is a revision of Request For Comments (RFC) 2822, which itself superseded Request For Comments (RFC) 822, "Standard for the Format of ARPA Internet Text Messages", updating it to reflect current practice and incorporating incremental changes that were specified in other RFCs.
