I've decided to give #knitting another attempt. I was fascinated the other day watching a guy on the train knitting something. I've tried in the past and can do a basic knit stitch. I think I can cast on and off. I've watched a video as a reminder. Also one on how to do a purl stich. I've read up on how to read a basic pattern.

My question.... What's a good, simple thing to try? Not just a square, but a proper thing. A simple pattern. A little animal? A hat?....?? Where would I find a simple pattern?

I need to go purchase the necessary equipment too!

Knitting seems to have become quite popular here in the UK, with all ages and flavours.
