I’ve decided to name it Gunsen.

Oh yeah! This film gets +1 star already

I know people are a fan of the original book, but Sean Connery is bringing his A game here.

I’m always a fan of a classic Sean Connery performance.

Oh the abbott is Hugo Drax from Moonraker!

Facing off against Bond again!

This monastery seems pretty messed up, but the mountain vistas are awesome.

It’s films like this that made me think all old castles in real life had secret buttons to unlock hidden doors and secret passageways.

I know things seem messed up these days…

But if I’m being completely honest, things were more messed up in 12th century Europe.

It’s pretty obvious why the church wants to stop William of Baskerville.

It’s because of his research into the Holy Grail. And that his son found the Arc Of The Covenant.

And also that he was about to defect to America in the Red October.

@troberts I’m really tempted to watch this tonight
@brh do it, it is awesome! You can also see Helmut Qualtinger in his last role before his death.
You might not now him, but he is an Austrian institution.
@troberts

@brh I think it’s pretty good.

If just for the fact it’s a big old fashioned movie, with a distinctive location and lots of characters and events.

@troberts I think I said a while back that I liked it as a kid. I’ll be interested to see what I think of it now
@troberts omg baby Christian Slater - I forgot he was in this

@troberts From my travels around the UK, they were apparently fairly common.

Not that surprising, if you can afford to build a castle, you can afford some secret passageways.
