I had two #Ryobi batteries die on me, without much use. Some quick searching found this blog post, which points out that these are bricked by a firmware bug that can be fixed with a hex editor and $100 worth of cables and hardware.

I don't want to throw the batteries out, but I also don't want to buy the equipment and spend a day futzing trying to get some Windows 3.1 software to run on Linux.

Advice on finding someone with the skills/interest to fix these?
