Spotted Towhees are very common here, and we have them year round, but you don't need to be rare to win my heart. I love these guys.

I'm not sure if this is an eastern towhee but perhaps your towhee is similar in song to what I hear. whenever I hear it, it reminds me of the dramatic sound effect you might describe as "dun Dun DUUUN!".
