@Wileymiller And the fact that lowering tariffs is *not* going to lower the prices will be pointed to as proof it never was the tariffs.

( Why would the prices go down? Markets just discovered that people are able/willing to pay the higher prices, why would they decide to lower those prices? They are just going to pocket the difference themselves. )

Exactly. Once prices go up, they stay up while income stays the same, only to gradually catch up.
