I resumed a Zelda #TOTK playthrough I started back in 2023. I hadn’t done very much.

I had a tough time remembering how to use the special powers. Two things I notice that I like better in BOTW: shrines and towers.

The new shrine look is somewhat surreal, almost tardis-like. The older shrine design felt more spatially correct and the puzzles were elegant yet approachable. I’m sure I’ll get used to it.

Towers are just weird. Being blown into the sky attached to a bungee cord and then trying to find a good place to land on the skymap is stressful. I loved using towers as a place to survey from. The sky is just too high for surveying.

I did finally get to the Woodland stable and register Butte (she’s a beaut), my small black pony. I guess I’m playing this game now.

I did run into Kotlin (Koltin?) and gave him a jewel so he could become a Satori. Timely given my recent taming of the lord of the mountain in BOTW.
I’m stuck on a shrine in #TOTK . There’s a big ball, a ramp and a target. Odds are I need to propel that ball at the target. In BOTW I would have used stop time and whacked the ball with a sledge hammer a few times. Somehow I need to grab the ball with the hand and reverse time to make this happen. Either that or I need to unlock another special ability I don’t know about yet.
Getting into Rabella Wetlands Tower in #TOTK does not require constructing anything. Once I got near the thorns by the door the rain stopped long enough for me to burn the thorns down with a flaming arrow.
@pcbeard if this is the shrine Im thinking of I couldn’t figure out how they wanted me to do it and I ended up cheesing it somehow. There were 2 or 3 in the game I needed to do that for.
