🧵I normally don't comment here on local issue but I want to highlight the newspaper's role in this issue and how it is a perfect example of why people are finding media less trustworthy. I worked as an editor for 8 years and there's no way in hell it would have allowed this headline.

If there isn’t enough parking or decent local transport options, of course people are going to do what they can to get to class. Instead of blaming them, we really need better communication and maybe a look at improving bus services so students aren’t left stuck.
2)
What really bothers me is that this was front-page, and local media have an obligation to report fairly & give the full picture — especially when they’re constantly saying print media is struggling and people don’t trust it anymore. Headlines like this just prove why. When an issue is framed in such a one-sided way, it misleads the public and takes focus off the real problem, which is the lack of proper planning and support for students. It’s something that genuinely needs to be addressed. 3)

°Is there adequate transport for these kids?
°Are those parking based in the local area like Lucan, Kilcock etc?
°Where is the interview/comment from the kids? 🔚
