Work in payroll?

#SteveLehto thoughts on Bank of America class action lawsuit about NOT paying hourly employees for PC boot & login time - as time system is app/website they had to get to, to "clock in"...

--
Hits home for me - I had this discussion at two different employers in last 20 years.

Result: have multiple systems available for clock-in.

Other issues: consider folks that try to start the clock at home or parking lot.

*I think people should get paid for commute.

Other payroll dumb things:

There was a time that my job required driving to 1 of 7 offices, occasionally to help at the other 8 offices in the company.

I live about 1/2 between my primary office and one of the 7 that I went to, monthly.

Due to wording of federal requirement for mileage reimbursement - 1st commute portion was not paid... but it would save company ~1/2 of mileage reimbursement if I started at home vs. going to office and driving from there vs. 50+ one-way.
