If they know you have an #encrypted file, they can begin work cracking it.
If you have an #obfuscated file, they may never even know it's there.

@BuckRogers1965 Eyup. When you encrypt a super-secret file, fill the filesystem with other random-data files of similar size and encrypt those with random keys... You must keep track of what the "real file" is in your head

@BuckRogers1965 You might enjoy my pastebin. It's full of encoding data to and from pixels in PNGs, creating encrypted sets of QR codes which can be printed and stashed, providing "hard copy encrypted files" etc

With the encoded/encrypted data-to-qr shell scripts, you could theoretically print out an entire Linux DVD and shove it in a box to be scanned and reconstructed later...
