I made a zine in Decker, about why taking pictures of "ugly" things like power lines and train tracks feels meaningful to me. Also, I figured how to embed a Decker deck in a web page without an iframe!

@noracodes

Power lines and train tracks are not "ugly things". I wish I had more opportunities to shoot industrial photography and I find black and white works better for such shots.

@noracodes "clean water and penicillin do not require empire and exploitation and profit" is a great line
@noracodes this speaks to me... thank you for taking the time to share it!
@noracodes Today I took a picture of a large metal grid/grating covering the air exchange ducts for my old university's underground parking area, so I can understand photographing infrastructure. It was conspicuously audible as white noise, even on a weekend day, and I wandered closer to see if it might be a water feature. I suspect it's upgraded air circulation.
@noracodes We could use better air circulation. Up there with penicillin and smog abatement and clean water.
@noracodes That’s beautiful. Feels a bit like Simon Stålenhag in a way.

@noracodes

especially when that system tells me I find the wrong things beautifulI really love this line ^ !! Although I love your whole zine too and I love your pictures! I'm also the type to take photos of "boring" things or things viewed as unaesthetic so I knew I would love this

I am also interested in getting into Decker, so thank you for sharing how you embedded it!

@noracodes I can’t scroll that page on iOS it seems, not sure why. (Just a heads up in case nobody else reported it)
@colinstu @noracodes I was able to scroll by using the farthest right ~5 pixels, fwiw.
