Say hi to my new garage friend 🕷️

Looks like it is one of the steatoda family, possibly S. nobilis, but can’t confirm as I’m not an expert and the species isn’t officially recorded where I live. They are spreading across the country tho, so I live in hope.

Shiny indeed! I think it is most definitely family steotoda, just can’t guarantee the actual species. I’m going to record it on iRecord but I expect they will say that as I’m not a known expert, it cannot therefore be verified, especially as it is outside know range.

Either way, impressive 😁

They make me jump if they appear suddenly, but I’m happy to look at spiders. Really interesting creatures, much maligned and misunderstood.

Confirming Steatoda, also see S. nobilis most likely, but this one picture is not enough to be sure (for me).

@robtherunt Oh, this is a good one with a ruler, nice. Well, I'd say it is S. nobilis.
But sorry, I'm not an expert to confirm officially, either. I hope I did not trigger that expectation.
