#CBP chief Greg #Bovino defended his decision to deploy #TearGas against those who gathered to #protest the actions of federal agents in #Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood on Oct 23 during a videotaped deposition played during Wednesday’s hearing.

“The uses of force have been more than exemplary,” Bovino said.

A spox for #DHS said Bovino fired tear gas at the crowd after he was struck in the head with a rock, a claim Bovino repeated under oath during his deposition.

However, no video has surfaced of #Bovino being struck & 4 days after the incident, Bovino had no visible head injury when he testified in Ellis’ courtroom. He subsequently admitted he had #lied.

Federal agents also deployed #TearGas against Chicagoans on Oct 24. Video captured by body-worn cameras recorded one agent mocked the crowd as tear gas was deployed, saying twice, “have fun!” & laughing as they fled.

“The agent then yelled ‘throw another one’ & prepared a second canister,” acc/to a filing by attorneys for the plaintiffs. “Similarly, one agent told another, ‘Hey, throw it (#TearGas) for fun.’”

Video of both incidents did not capture agents ordering the crowd to disperse or warning that they were going to deploy #ChemicalAgents, as required by Ellis’ order.

@Nonilex ICE is recruiting absolute scum who get little to no training. Convictions for domestic violence ‘may’ disqualify you. They claim they get 22 week training but not actually believing that. They say you have to have a bachelor’s degree. Nope. I am shocked there hasn’t been a mass shooting by an ICE officer yet.

What’s really rich about this in a nightmare dystopian way?

Apparently, shooting pastors including clergymen point blank in the face with pepper balls is what literally gets them up and off in the morning.

Here I’m referring to the incident over in Oakland/Alameda where a federal agent shoots a pepper ball point blank into the face of a clergy man. The photograph of this agent shows a wet stain at the crotch of his trousers.

Oh yeah, pastor Black, he got sprayed in the face one day and then a few days later shot in the head from the guys from the roof of the ice facility.

What I am talking about is an instance where a clergymen in Oakland or Alameda was shot in the face with pepper spray from a few feet away by a federal agent. It’s hard to find the photograph, even though I have it on my desktop. It’s from a blue sky account around the declared surge of forces into San Francisco

These judgements are all well & good, but I still haven't heard any indication of there being actual •consequences• for violating them. Like maybe for example you know, •jail time•??

& Bovino lied, presumably under oath. Last I heard, that's an actual crime? Why tf aren't we hearing about him being brought up on charges?
