Found my old #zip drive. How big were the disks? 100mb? Still got a #syquest drive somewhere (80mb?). Even had an #LS120 drive way back. Long gone #pc #Mac #vintage #VintageElectronics
@emsquared I had both 100 and 250 MB zips back in the day. LS-120 for a bit, but only one disk I think.
@Onj Yes I don't think the LS drive got any bigger. Backward compatible with floppy disks though. I had a jazz drive connected to an Emax keyboard for a bit. They were bigger weren't they? I think the Emax had something like a 20mb drive in it originally. Sounded like a small jet engine. We thought we'd never need more memory... Until...
@emsquared Yep, I had a normal FDD as drive A, and LS as drive B, and I could indeed 'Copy that Floppy' hahaha
@emsquared I definitely wish LS had taken off. It was a great size overall. Easier to transport than zip disks, as you say, same look as a floppy, and if you wanted to read floppy disks, much faster as it was connected to IDE bus.
