Coordinated crop-residue burning being done immediately after the pass-over of NASA-NOAA satellites around 10:00 UTC or 15:30 IST (3:30 PM local) on 6 November to avoid detection and show reduction in number of fires.

This was done in 2023 and 2024 as well at the behest of officials who are under pressure to show results in controlling stubble burning.
