If I had to guess, I'd say it's implication of scarcity to encourage impulse buys. The whole "fear of missing out"/"when they're gone, they're gone" thing.

Which, for the vast majority of products, is complete bullshit.

@MostlyHarmless Yes haha. But increasingly I have noticed #Amazon just becoming an intermediary in the supply chain and goods are shipped direct from the manufacturer - often in China.
