@HamonWry Of course I do so immediately, you may want more people to answer the poll after all.

Yeah @Rynach, you're completely right!

But look at the poll's result‼️

Only boosting a poll brings up meaningful results!

This poll was very important, thank you @HamonWry, because a lot of people seem not to realize this simple fact.

@HamonWry

Almost always. I sometimes forget. I've been trying to boost more in general. Long time web usage has taught me "Don't fucking spam!", but spam's kinda how things work here. It still feels weird though.

@HamonWry usually, but I think there have been exceptions. Probably because of a CW (or lack thereof), since poll posts can't have images anyway from what I've seen so they don't need alt text lol

@HamonWry

um sometimes, kinda more than rarely and less yes.

@MCDuncanLab @HamonWry
Ditto, will most often boost if the author request that.
@HamonWry wait there's a boost button?
@HamonWry boost like and follow are the ways here
@HamonWry the math is mathing this time
@HamonWry
If it's an issue I want to draw attention to. I'm not going to boost some little "what emoji are you" poll or similar, even if I'm happy to vote.

@Blort

There ARE indeed SOME polls I don't boost either: polls the content of what don't attract me.

But IF a less "important" poll attracts me so far that I like to vote then I also boost it - perhaps other people also like to have fun for example with the "emoji-question"‼️

@HamonWry

@HamonWry
If the poll is of interest yes, if it just some silly dross like this one ten definitely not.
@HamonWry missing the "I don't participate in polls" option
@HamonWry in the rare situations I answer I usually boost
@HamonWry I actually never thought about it before. i’ll remember it from now on.
@HamonWry
I do if specifically asked to boost.

@HamonWry

I’ll just get it out in the open here.
3rd one is a charm 😉 I mean 4th sorry … damn !

😊

@HamonWry 25% out of 1321 is 330. The extra 7 out of 30%, which is 396 is less then 2%.

"Rarely" in this case means "in less then 2% cases"... but of course, there may be hidden bias caused by some of other poll participants lying about what they do :-)

@HamonWry I think seeing a lot of "please boost for more reach" notes at the end of polls has taught me to do it automatically even when such a note is not present
@HamonWry I think that ''boost on vote'' should be the default and you'd have to opt-out every time if you're so inclined. If you think the poll is worth participating, then why won't you spread the word about it, after all?
@HamonWry
1600 answers.
¼ replied yes.
400 boosts.
OK, that's consistent!
@HamonWry
No. I want to be right all by myself.

@HamonWry oh no, three of the answers basically mean no, and there's no sometimes option!

Like other toots, I boost a poll if I think it's relevant to my friends or they would enjoy it, and it's not got so many boosts that it still makes a difference.

@HamonWry
not unless I want to dilute my vote. : )

(in all seriousness, I usually do)

@HamonWry Not always. 😊
@HamonWry But got shit for doing it yesterday as I didn’t follow the account so that may have me reconsider.
@HamonWry @pitrh No, "It depends" option?!
@HamonWry
Now I will. Sometimes I am a little slow 🙃🙂
@HamonWry Almost always, so I voted yes. There are some where it's contextually obvious that this poss *isn't* meant for wider distribution (e.g.: I take part in an ongoing writers'/creators' hashtag that sometimes tells participants to create a poll; boosting those beyond the hashtag wouldn't be appropriate IMO), but aside from such cases, "vote and then boost" is practically automatic. Like, voting in a poll feels to me like a 2-click operation, because I boost so routinely.
@HamonWry
Depends on the poll...
@HamonWry
Y es, but I didn't boost this poll. ;-)
