Breakthrough treatment shows promise for smell loss after head injuries

A new treatment using platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections has shown promising results in helping people recover their sense of smell after head injuries, according to a preliminary study published in the November issue of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, the peer-reviewed journal of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Foundation (AAO-HNSF).
