I saw #Roofman #RoofmanMovie this week. I'd only heard about it because I'd seen the trailer, which was interesting, and I decided that a lighter film would be a good change of pace.

I generally enjoyed the movie. It's based on the true story of Jeffrey Manchester. After the movie, I did read about what actually happened, and they did a good job of picking through what to include in the film. I have to admit that it was really fun to see a #ToysRUs store.

I'd known going in that the film starred #ChanningTatum and #KirstenDunst , but I'd not known that it also included #BenMendelsohn, #PeterDinklage, and #JimmyOYang, and I was very happy to see #LaKeithStanfield, who stole the show for me.

I was amused by all the inadvertent and blatant tie-ins to Spiderman.

The thing that I thought was interesting about the telling of the story is that it portrays Manchester as a hero of sorts. He is neither a hero nor an anti-hero. He had an interesting story and was very clever, but he also paid the consequences of his actions, hurting people along the way, none of it in service of a higher purpose.
