so... the layoff is for them to burn more capital for compute for AI products that nobody asked for. The root cause is still AI.

They cut cybersecurity jobs, and AWS security has been notoriously shit for years, so I guess that tracks.

they cut 30,000 jobs to prop up a bubble for a product that nobody but wall street wants.

When this bubble bursts, they're all fucked.

edit: some are saying 14,000, others are saying 30,000. Either way, its a fucking HUGE number of people to axe to sustain a bubble.
