Look guys, I'm just drivin' my shitty Corsa D but even the shitty dongle thingy to get music onto it's radio without an AUX plug has dedicaded buttons for play/pause/redial last number/end call, back and forward.

That's how it belongs: There's no reason we can't have basic, dedicaded buttons on the steering wheel like a 2002 Audi A4 offered as premium option!

Seriously, buttons, switches and levers are scientifically proven to be superior and that's why in #airplanes from the smallest training aircraft to the biggest commercial airliner THEY DON'T DO TOUCHSCREENS and instead focus on high legibility fonts for ease of reading instruments under adverse conditions...

• The only innovation they have is replacing physical instruments with OLED displays that have higher contrast ratio, require less power and have a limited set of contextual configurations based off whether the plane is in Autopilot, Manual Mode, Taxi, Takeoff, Landing or Maintenance because it makes sense to i.e. swap the artificial horizon or weather radar whilst taxing for a front landing gear camera so the pilot can park in properly or follow the center line from or to the runway.

@kkarhan Facts! There are only very few aircraft that use touchscreens, often on nonessential systems. Everything that is critical for the safety of the planes runs on buttons.

Many of the most critical levers even have unique shapes. The landing gear lever is round like a tire, the flaps lever is shaped like an aerofoil, etc. to reduce the likelihood of improper operation of those.
