The remaster of Paranorman was good. Really fun. I knew the story was more than about the seeing ghosts stuff. But I really liked where the story went.

I liked these characters. But I love how #Laika crafted this small town. It felt so familiar.

The Thrifting was fun too. Some fun moments. Really well done. But it was too short. Wish it had more time.

Cinema 3D has never done it for me. A few moments, yea. But not all.

I see how this is a riff on Scooby Doo. And i like it.

I akso noticed how Norman is on good terms with the ghosts. While his living neighbors give him the stink eye. I like that touch.

Neil is just the best. Good on ya Neil.

I love love love when artists are not scared to draw ugly. To rendrr not- pretty and not- hansom images. Bulbus noses. Eye bags. Jowels. Freckles. Redness.

So many artists obsess about making a fantasy form of humanity with clean lines and nonexsistant symmetry. And leave wonderful, recognizable, human features out of their imagination. And out of their study. The actual features we all see in the mirror every day. And so many companies refuse it outright.

Here, tht is front and center, left and right. And more real.

The houses are crooked. Not one person has a standard skeleton in their character design. Even Courtney, the beauty conscious char, has oblong features that bleed thru her perfectly curated style.

And - this - is - the - norm. "Ugly" is embraced in this world. And it is SO refreashing. In a world where so much art irons out our creases and rounds.

The behind the scenes for this shows the painstaking craft that was put into making these chars uneven, asymmetric, and how they had to work with that.

And I'm glad they did. It works well with the themes of not being normal, and being ok with that. And need for everyone to get out of weirdness' way. And let it live. Let it do it's thing.
