#Russian_Telegram channels report that a #Russian_Ka_52 attack helicopter was shot down by "friendly fire."

Yesterday, several "Z-channels" reported the loss of a #Russian_Ka_52 attack helicopter along with its crew. Later it was said that the helicopter was lost while repelling a drone attack on #Russian territory.

"The #Ka_52 (#52M) was shot down, unfortunately, with crew losses. It was downed by our own forces - a fighter jet fired at it.

It seems they mistook it for a drone that was nearby. The incident and its causes are now being investigated."

According to estimates, this is at least the #17th known case of #Russian aircraft lost to "friendly fire" since the start of the war, and the second one in 2025. In total, 12 #Russian planes and five helicopters have been lost this way.

@kardinal691 This is one of the beauties of having Ukrainian drones flying all over the skies of Russia. If you can create a sense of anxiety and imminent danger, then people will make mistakes.
