He posted a message on #YouTube:

“Hey Folks.

We have taken the decision to remove yesterday evenings video and would like to take a moment to explain why.

Firstly though, a big thank you for your overwhelming support. The video received 4000 comments of pretty much unadulterated support, plus a lot of appreciation towards the channel and work done here. For that we are extremely grateful. It really does mean the world that we can produce videos in the way we do and know that they are valued.

The video received 300k views in 20 hours. This is unprecedented for us. My immediate concern is that this video, which was essentially 14 minutes of me being a little grumpy, would go on to define the channel. Rather than have some of the most enjoyable videos made sitting high up in the rankings of the most popular, we were facing the fact that this one would soon potentially be our most viewed.

We didn't want this.

My second concern was the number of people calling for audit channels and the like, to go visit the area.

Again, this is far from what we had desired for any outcome of the video. My goal was to simply highlight my experience and my concern, namely being approached by someone on a public highway, who decided to call security, and hearing experiences of others suggesting the same within the area.

I also stated, "This is not my Battle". Many suggested that it was, and it’s up to channels like mine with a voice to stand up to, what was potentially harassment. I completely appreciate that, and I hope that you also understand my reasons for not taking this further. I do not have the strength or capacity to deal with this, when there are very well resourced organisations that can.

So, sorry, I really hope you understand. We will be back this Sunday coming with a fresh instalment of a really
'weird' feature on the Landscape, that we still don't understand.”
