I can’t really explain the concept of föreningsliv in English. Think of it as a democratic ecosystem of voluntary clubs, associations, and community organizations.

This morning we were in the forest with Friluftsfrämjandet for our Skogsknopp group, a concept for introducing children to the outdoors that dates back to the 1950s. Later, we went swimming with the swim club Neptun, where absolutely amazing young trainers teach kids to swim through play.
